I began dancing at the age of two and competitively at the age of eight. I trained at Encore Performance Company in the ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, modern, hip hop and tap dance styles. This prepared me to be accepted into a top 15 dance program at the University of Alabama.
During college, I performed with Alabama's official dance team, the Crimson Cabaret and danced at Walt Disney World for the Universal Dance Association and ESPN Collegiate Dance Team National Finals. In this time, I also choreographed, performed, and designed lighting and costumes for Dance Alabama!, the state’s premiere student-produced concert.
I recently performed in Alabama Repertory Dance Theatre as a demi-soloist in the original contemporary ballet, The Trainer, by Qianping Guo from the Vaganova Ballet Academy and a modern work by Natosha Washington from The Penguin Lady Dance Collective. In my final semester at UA, I presented award-winning research in Choreography and United States Copyright Law for the Research and Creative Activity Conference.
I also worked with Andrew Raffo Dewar and Sarah M. Barry in the Sonic Frontier Series of the Works in Progress Concert Collaboration.
After graduating top of her class, I will continue my dance education at the world renowned Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance where I will study the Graham technique extensively as well as choreography and composition. After college, I also assisted many incredible performers and choreographers, most notably, Chelsea Thedinga from Shaping Sound, Matthew Fatta from Royal Flux and Jeremy Arnold from Apt 33.
I am currently choreographing work on the Arova Contemporary Ballet Company that will premiere in April of 2018.
